Attending a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (or FDRP) is compulsory in fulfilling the mediation requirements of the Australian Family Court for family dispute resolution prior to family court orders. Because of the legislation. a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner is the required qualification in order to issue the required 60i certificate to the Family Court of Australia regarding parenting matters. It is also expected to soon be required for property matters as well.
The post graduate qualification, CHC81115 Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution, requires a Bachelor in Psychology, Law or Social Work as a pre-requisite.
Successfully completing the Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution allows graduates to register with the Australian Attorney General to become a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
