New Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner) Regulations 2025 commence on 1 April 2025.

The Attorney General’s office new regulations include several changes that will impact accredited FDR practitioners.
Most of the changes come into force immediately. Others, like the need for the AG to approve who can act as a complaints-handling body, have a transitional period.
This allows time for you to lodge applications and for the AG to make decisions.
Please Note:
After April 1, 2025, those who hold a NMAS (now AMDRAS) certificate will NOT BE ALLOWED to complete only 6 core units of the CHC81115 Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution!
The above also will apply to Social Work Degrees  where the holder wished to complete only 6 core units of the CHC81115 Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution.
NMAS and SOCIAL WORK DEGREE holders will still be allowed to complete all 10 units of the CHC81115 Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution after April 1, 2025.
The complete Graduate Diploma will allow the applicant to register with the Attorney General’s office as per previous regulations.
New Changes apply only to those who were seeking to register with only 6 core units of the Graduate Diploma.
